Jesse S. Somer is a 34 year-old dual-citizen of Australia and the U.S.A. who currently resides in Melbourne, Australia. Jesse is a professional Creative Writer having worked as an Internet Journalist, Chief Editor and Blogger for over five years. He has a Bachelor of Professional Writing from the University of Canberra, and is halfway through a Masters of Creative Writing, Publishing and Editing degree at the University of Melbourne, with a Distinction average.
Mostly working for smaller organisations, Jesse previously had a blog entitled, ‘Blogspoke’, which was ranked in the top 150,000 out of 70 million when the server company that supported its online existence went bankrupt and dissappeared from the face of the Earth. Having published over 225 articles and stories mainly for Internet companies, the range of topics mainly centred around Internet technologies, social software and blogging, but as these subjects interrelate with just about all content, articles have covered a massive range of issues.
Jesse has also worked as Chief Editor for a film reviewing company and has recently fallen in love with writing and reading film screenplays. His main interests in life are nature, people, society, culture, evolution of collective consciousness, martial arts including kung fu, tai chi and qi gong, playing musical instruments didgeridoo (Australian indigenous music) and the nylon-stringed guitar (finger-picking). He also loves travel, has worked as an English language instructor whilst living in Japan, speaks Japanese, is learning to speak Chinese (his partner is native to China), and has also lived in the USA and Fiji.
Ancestrally Jewish, Jesse is a strong believer in humanity as a singular race, and when asked, deems himself to be a ‘Universalist’ or simply a ‘human’. His goals in life are to work as a full-time writer and editor, and to write feature-length screenplays and fiction novels. If he could do the latter full-time, all the better.
